These projects are yearlong capstone projects designed for senior learners to synthesize and apply the essential skills of research, design, critical thinking, communication, and project management. Serving as the culminating experience of their high school journey, the project empowers students to explore a topic of deep personal interest and transform it into a meaningful public exhibition or presentation.
At its core, VERTEX challenges learners to think independently, manage complex timelines, and engage authentically with real-world audiences. Each learner develops an in-depth understanding of their chosen topic through sustained inquiry, conducting research, gathering insights, and working with mentors and industry experts to refine their direction.
Throughout the process, students produce a range of writing and visual outputs tailored to their disciplines, from academic analyses to creative expressions and design-based artifacts. They are also required to document their learning journey, capturing reflections on progress, challenges, and transformation.
The project culminates in the VERTEX Exhibition, where learners publicly share their final outcomes, demonstrating not only the depth of their research but also their ability to create work that adds value to the community through awareness, innovation, or direct social impact.
Ultimately, this project is a future-ready design experience that bridges learning with purpose, preparing students for higher education, creative industries, and the evolving demands of the modern world.
